Paper from Rose of Sharon with Ann Corley Silverman
Ann is truly a treasure in her ability to both create and inspire. A master papermaker, we are honored to have her in the studio. Ready, set, Create. Get your hands wet and, if you want, bring your children and work side-by-side. Make paper from Rose of Sharon that Ann has gathered from alongside the road. Use for special cards to send to relatives, or keep it in a scrapbook as a shared memory. Art helps keeps families strong! Sign up soon. Turkish Watercolor Marbling with Ann Woods
Cloaked in secrecy for centuries by artisans serving the Ottoman Emperors and by the European craft guilds, this style of marbling creates one-of-a-kind color prints by floating pigments on a water-based bath. This workshop will dispel the myths but not the magic of this enchanting art, as you discover its history, philosophy, and chemistry, and learn many of its traditional patterns and modern variations, and make wonderful papers for endless creative uses. Ann Woods is an incredible teacher, amazing artist and we are ever so lucky to have her with us. She is a dedicated expert in her field. $45 plus $12 materials fees.

Holiday Origami Boxes with Anne Roberts
Anne is an artist, art teacher and an accomplished origami enthusiast! She will teach you to make a variety of origami boxes, using traditional, dry and wet fold techniques. You will leave with 5 different style boxes. Perfect for the holidays to fill with goodies and give as small hostess gifts. $35 includes materials.

Paste Paper with Susie Thompson
Susie will show you how to create colorful, hand painted, one-of-a-kind papers, and share the recipe so you can do it at home. Paste paper is the perfect foil for bookbinding, boxmaking, framing, decoupage and uses too endless to list. We provide the paste, pigment, brayers and tools. You provide the imagination! $30 includes materials.

Valentines with Susie Thompson
Susie will pull out all the stops and share her card making techniques to help you create a variety of valentines, suitable for sending or framing. You will choose from a variety of wet collage,decoupage, and collage techniques. Bring pictures and personlaize. 35$ covers all.

Plants to Paper Basics with Susie Thompson & Sara Gilfert
Jim Gilfert once said of his wife, Sara, our founder and Artistic Director, “There isn’t a plant that I know of, from which Sara hasn’t tried to make paper!” You will make paper from things like bananas, onions, carrots, broccoli and more! This is a really fun beginner’s class, and a great way to get your kids to eat vegetables! $30 for individuals, $50 for families of three (1 adult 2 children)

Block Printing with Skip French
Join Skip for an amazing day with his hand-carved blocks, rolls of brown paper and black inks to create some of the most unique and beautiful prints we have ever seen. Please see our archived exhibits for examples of what is possible to make. (go to exhibits page and access archives) You will go home with individual prints and collaborative prints.

Sewing on Paper with Lanna Galloway
Veteran fiber and paper and book artist will share her amazing techniques for sewing on and with paper. Crumpled paper bags that look like metal? Lanna will blow your needles off! Bring your machine - and a notebook to capture the plethora of information you will gather. Lanna will provide the rest. This is a class that will forever enhance your art making. $35 includes materials.

Bookbinding - Enclose / Include with Eileen Wallace
Join us for a bookbinding workshop where you will look at basic enclosures as well as unexpected features that allow for the inclusion of ephemera, provide the foundation for a unique artist’s book, or simply facilitate practical storage. Explore your options and then focus on how to utilize the structure and the page to add pockets, envelopes, frames and windows for both display and organization. Each participant will create a sample book which incorporates a variety of enclosure options. Eileen is a world-renown bookmaker, and hers are amongst our most prized classes. $45 plus materials fee (TBA)

Innovative Hand Papermaking with Margaret Rhein
The papers you will make, will be so beautiful that they can be used as miniature paintings suitable for framing! As an expressionist artist, Peg, owner of Terrapin Mill in Cincinnati, encourages students to work spontaneously, and to use the colors, patterns and textures to express their thoughts and feelings in their work. Students are encouraged to bring dried flowers, bits of ribbon, lace and glitters to add to their papers. A wide variety of inclusions will be provided. Peg was here in 2004 and trust us when we say, she is an amazing teacher and can really bring out the artistisic you. $50 includes materials.
