Sara Gilfert

Founder, Artistic Director

Paper Circle was founded by Sara Gilfert in 2003, and she is the heart and soul of our organization. She knows just about everything there is to know about papermaking, is an accomplished paper artist, is the current Treasurer of our Board of Directors and is also Paper Circle's Artistic Director. Our studio is filled with Sara's equipment, which she donated along with many years of her life, in order to make Paper Circle what it is today.

Barbara Campagnola

Executive Director

Barbara was hired in 2004 and brings a diverse set of talents to the organization. Founder of Seven Sauces Restaurant, she has considerable entrepreneurial successes and development experience under her belt. Her years as an instructor for Hocking College give her the needed skills for designing and coordinating educational programs, such as Circle Round the Square and Circle Round the School. She was named the Distinguished Citizen for Arts Education in 2008, a statewide award bestowed on her by the Ohio Arts Education Association which is comprised of over 1,200 art educators in Ohio.

Susanna is Paper Circle's resident artist. She first came to us as an Ohio University intern, from the print Department at the College of Fine Arts, and it was love at first sight for our Director. Susanna helped to develop our O-Gami line, and is one of the most inventive, talented, hard-working artists we have ever been lucky enough to have. She manages our O-Gami operation, teaches workshops, makes books, and generally keeps things humming along smoothly. We are thrilled to have her.

Terry is an amazing and accomplished artist, who fell in love with the magic of paper the first time her hands hit the water! We really appreciate her wisdom, talents and company in the studio and will be sad when her tenure is up this January.

Rita Preston

Rita is a nursing instructor at Hocking College and has been with us for many years. She is not only one of the loveliest people we know, she is a tremendous help and addition to the newly formed team at Paper Circle. Rita is no ordinary volunteer. She is family.
