Paper Circle is dedicated to the preservation, education, advancement and celebration of the paper and book arts to enrich the culture and economy of Southeast Ohio. We are a non-profit committed to arts learning in order to provide studio mentoring for interns, teaching opportunities for artists, learning opportunities for community members, and arts enrichment opportunities for children. Our values, mission and what we do today sprang from the dreams of our founder, Sara Gilfert.

Located on the historic, starbrick-lined square of Nelsonville, Ohio, our spacious northern-lit gallery hosts six exhibitions annually and also includes a shop where we feature an assortment of handmade paper and objects of art. Our creative studio is located in the rear, complete with a Hollander beater, 2 presses and numerous vats and dryers for making paper on-site. We have our O-Gami studios in the basement. We also offer year-round community workshops

Our major outreach program, Circle for Kids, takes place in the summer. In response to the lack of art education in the school from grades K-8,  Circle for Kids provides the underserved area youth a summer of learning through the arts.
